Situated on the main entering edge of this commuter campus, the principal design challenge of this building was to develop a condition of transparency and welcome - to both indoor functions and outdoor courtyard - while protecting east and west exposures from direct sun and glare.

The rhythmic vertical louvering achieved direct sun protection while allowing extensive views through the building.

The building's open architecture, allowing a building-wide condition of seeing and being seen, is a proposition for an engaged, interactive student life throughout one's tenure on the campus.
